Art, drinks, music, and good company...what more could we ask for to kick off the month?
The Gift Giving Season is upon us. During 1st Friday in December, you won't miss a beat and You can Shop Until You Drop as this month's sponsors are also going to have a pop up shop experience during our regular 1st Friday. So, while you sip your drink and listen to some incredible music, you can also check a few people off your list!
You won't want to miss this month's featured musician: Katherine Nagy!
Katherine’s songwriting and soothing sound is influenced by her childhood in Ireland and from living in many other interesting cities throughout her life. Her listeners will hear a blend of country, bluegrass and soul with hints of Celtic, jazz, pop and folk in her songs. A musical experience for sure!
Her songs have been featured on CBS (The Young & the Restless), Netflix (Love is Blind), Bravo TV (Love Without Borders), Amazon Prime (Forever in the Hamptons) and CW Network (The Wranglers).
She writes in multiple genres with songwriters from all over the world and has participated in writing workshops with Liz Rose Studios in Nashville. She is an active member of the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) and the Indy Jazz Foundation.
She has been the opening act for Gabe Dixon and for Willy Porter and regularly performs at The Studio Theatre and The Jazz Kitchen. She performs at art and music festivals in the Midwest such as Penrod, Broad Ripple Arts Festival, Ethnic Expo, Carmel International Festival and more. Katherine regularly collaborates with Sarah Scharbrough, Tim Wright (from The Wright Brothers), Brett Wiscons, Jennie DeVoe and more.
Katherine has a large catalogue of original songs and recently released her second full length album,
“Sweetlove”
The best way to enjoy the arts is to not just attend the final performances, but learn about the process, the stories, and the inspiration!
First Fridays serve as a way for you to experience that connection and for our community to come together and learn more about the people who surround you and your community through art. This is a free, family-friendly event meant for you to relax and kick off you month on the right foot.
We hope to see you Around the Behn for 1st Friday in Decmember!
